In KPK’s Laode, Environmentalists See a Green Enforcer

Jakarta. Advocates have expressed confidence that Indonesia’s antigraft commission, under new leadership, will make tackling environmental crimes a priority.

Grahat Nagara, the secretary general of Auriga, an environmental think tank, told the Jakarta Globe on Tuesday that he was particularly impressed by the track record of Laode Muhammad Syarif, a law professor who on Monday was inaugurated as one of five new leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission, or KPK.
